Office of the Engineer-in-Chief (Civil)Orissa, Bhubaneswar, Nirman Soudh,Unit-V, Kesharinagar,Bhubaneswar-751001
This is a Heads of Department office and functioning under Government of Orissa, Works Department. There are ten Circle Officer (Seven Civil, one P.H., one Electrical and one Mechanical) functioning under this Organization., 37 Civil Divisions, 2 G.P.H. Division, 4 General Electrical Divisions and 4 Mechanical Divisions are functioning under the above Circle Offices, Sub-Divisional Officers and Section Offices are also functioning under the above Divisional Offices. An Organization chart is annexed as Annexure - "A" for reference.
The Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) is the head of the Organization. Four Chief Engineers designated as Chief Engineer, (DPI & Roads), Chief Engineer, Buildings, Chief Engineer, Research Development & Quality Promotion and Chief Engineer, World Bank are functioning under the Office.
This Organization is mainly looking after the construction and maintenance works of P.W.D. Roads, Buildings and Bridges etc. There is also a R.D. & Q.P. Cell functioning under this office. The R.D. & Q.P. Cell is mainly looking after the Research Development and Quality Control works of the (R&B) Wing.
This office is also issuing contract license and also empanelling the names of the diploma engineers of all discipline for providing jobs to the unemployed diploma engineers.
