1. Aims and Objectives of the Organization:
The Sambalpur Lift Irrigation Division, Sambalpur is functioning from 02/1965 under the control of the Director, Lift Irrigation Orissa, Bhubaneswar. The Division is functioning under Superintending Engineer (N.C) OLIC Ltd. Sambalpur. It has 5 Sub-divisions (4 Civil Sub-divisions + 1 Electrical Sub division) having jurisdiction of 4 nos. Districts i.e. Sambalpur, Baragarh, Jharsuguda & Deogarh. The Division is headed by the Executive Engineer and 5 Sub-divisions are headed by Assistant Engineer.
2. Functions & Duties:
Sambalpur Lift Irrigation Division, Sambalpur is an Organization to boost the agricultural productivity of 4 Districts, i.e. Sambalpur, Baragarh, Jharsuguda & Deogarh by creating additional irrigation potential by lifting water from Rivers & Nallah Water Sources which will improve the social economic condition of the rural poor of the above districts covering blocks.
3. Jurisdiction:
Sambalpur L.I. Division, Sambalpur: In whole 4 Districts consisting of 29 Blocks.
