• Nomination of State representatives to the  Board  of Governors of the Regional Engineering College, Rourkela Board of Council constituted by Government of India on Technical Education and Training.
• Nomination of Directors to different Pilot Project Companies.
• Nomination of official Directors on the Boards of different companies.
• Communication of views of the State Government on policy matters to the Government of India or other State Governments.
• Re-organization of Department/ Heads of Department and Subordinate offices, change of Headquarters of Heads of Departments, Head officers, Zonal or District officers/ posts.
• Policy matters relating to establishment of Industries.
• Policy matters relating to development of textile industries, handloom, powerloom and sericultures in the State.
• Constitution of State Council of Technical Education and Training, State Council of Vocational Trades, State Apprenticeship Council and Industrial Liaison/ Board.
• All cases which the Chief Minister directs to be submitted to him.
• Finalization of Five Year Plans and Annual Plans.
• Issue of Directives to Government undertakings.
• Promotion of Public and Joint Sector undertakings.
• Policy decisions relating to developed area schemes.
• Closures revivals, transfer, sale and lease of different types of units.
• Transfer of Government shares.
• Government investment share capital debenture/ loan floated by Industries/ Industrial Projects.
• Matters relating to Licensing Committees, issue of licenses, letter of intent etc.
